Meet at West Plaza Park and prepare for the event. This will include things like putting out signs and banners, setting up tents, tables and chairs, trash and recycling bins, etc.
Course monitors assist the police officers in keeping runners on the correct course, and looking out for safety issues. This job entails walking and standing for about an hour.
Before the race, assist runners with checking in or registering for the race, receiving their bib and directing them to the starting line or gear check. After the race, distribute runner shirts.
Consists of disassembling tents, folding up tables and chairs and taking them to a central location for loading onto trucks, picking up trash and recycling and tying them up for later pickup, rolling up signs and banners, etc.
Hand medals to finishers as they cross the finish line.
Hand bottles of water to finishers after they cross the finish line.
Set up trophies by placement. Distribute trophies to winners in various team and age categories from the Awards Tent.
Help runners bag a change of clothes or other personal items, tag bags, and keep organized. Then return the bag when runners return with their claim check.
Set up tables and signage for water station at the mid-way point along route. Assemble cups and pre-fill with water, and quickly replace as runners begin coming through. Once runners are past, pick up scattered cups and break down the water station.
Help as needed. Possible tasks include, but may not be limited to: setting up tables and chairs, helping to put table covers out, directing runner traffic, hanging up or taking down signage, escorting vendors to their table assignment, opening boxes, etc.
Unpack food and beverage from boxes. Set up on tables. Restock tables as needed.
We need a good photographer to take photos after the race, of runners with their medals. Must have good photo skills and the ability to upload photos within 24 hours to a cloud in order to share with the DDD Foundation, Inc.
Greet runners and volunteers as they exit the Vine City and GWCC MARTA stations, and point the way toward the race so that everyone finds us easily and is greeted by smiling faces!
Greet volunteers as they arrive, make sure everyone receives a volunteer shirt and knows their assignment and where to go.
