The volunteers needed for this position will be posted at the finish line. They will be there to greet runners as they come in and pass by all the food that is provided for them after they run. This is a key spot as food will need to be replenished so that it is easily accessible to the runners. It is a great way to visit with runners and congratulate them as they finish. This station is a place where runners love to see people helping since they just finished their race and are grateful to be finished. Lots of energy is needed here. It is a great place for large groups to be able to work together. You will want to arrive at 5:30 AM at 900 S 700 E North East corner of Liberty Park This station could use 25+ people to help.
At 6th South and 3rd East. On the grass in front of Bldg. 560. This aid station will be small. It won’t be open until 9:00, that is when the police make the remaining marathon runners turn down 3rd east instead of 2nd east. It is the last of the runners, so you will need to stay in place until 11:30. I only anticipate 250 runners maximum passing here. There will be a port o pottie and a hand washing station. Mix the Gatorade in the 5 gallon water jug as needed. Arrive between 8:30-8:45. Many of the roads will be closed because of the races. Please plan to leave early so that you can navigate the road closures. Please be there by 8:30.
