This station will be set up at mile 3 of the marathon and will see marathon runners only. It will need 4-5 people to help man this station. This is a great spot to start the day early and really energize all those running the marathon. Just before the 3rd mile marker in turnout on the right side of the road (as runners coming down). This turnout has a rock monument 4ft tall. There will be a port o pottie. Park here. Mix the Powerade in the gallon water jugs as needed. Arrive between 4:45-5:00 am last runner approx 6:15 am. Directions: Take I-80 east to Park City up Parleys Canyon, take exit 134 to East Canyon/Mountain Dell Recreation Area, once you exit the freeway take left and go under the freeway (heading north), stay on this main road. At 2.3 miles from exit there is a turnoff up little mountain DO NOT turn but stay straight continue for 5 miles. After road mile marker 5 you will see it on the left side-look for a port o pottie and supplies. There will be no light here so bring flashlights or head lamps.
This station is located at mile 5 of the Marathon and will see marathon runners only. This is a great place to help keep those runners motivated. This shift needs at least 5 people to run it. It is located just before the 5 mile marker in the turnout on the right side of the road. It is in the parking lot east of the reservoir, and has a “no parking” sign. There will be a port o pottie there. You can park about 5 cars here. Arrive at 5:15 am last runner approx 7 am. When you arrive set up table and begin pouring water and mixing powerade in cooler and pouring. Have all cups poured prior to runners arriving. The runners will be spread out at this point. Directions: Take I-80 east to Park City up Parleys Canyon and take exit 134 to East Canyon/Mountain Dell Recreation Area. Once you exit the freeway take a left go under the freeway (heading north). Stay on this main road for about 2.3 miles from exit and there is a turnoff on the left up little mountain. DO NOT turn. Stay straight and continue past reservoir. This aid station is between mile 6 and mile 7 of the marathon, and will see marathon runners only. It is located in the large turnout on the left side of the road, halfway up Little Mountain. You can park multiple cars here. There will be a port o pottie. Arrive at 5:45 am last runner approx 7:45 am. This is on an uphill so many runners will hit this station. Sun is starting to come up. Directions: Take I-80 east to Park City up Parleys Canyon. Take exit 134 to East Canyon/Mountain Dell Recreation Area. Once you exit the freeway take a left and go under the freeway (heading north), stay on this main road for about 2.3 miles from the exit. There is a turnoff on the left up little mountain. Take this LEFT and turn up the hill. Drive to turnout on LEFT and you will see a port o pottie and supplies.
This aid station is located at mile 9 of the marathon and will see marathon runners only. This is a great place to encourage marathon runners as they are now getting close to hitting 10 miles. Just after the 9 mile marker inside Pinecrest (address of Pinecrest turn off 6880 E Pinecrest Canyon Rd and 815 N Emigration Canyon Rd). You’ll take a left turn at the hairpin turn. There are yellow arrows indicating a turn. The aid station will be on the turnout on the right side of the road across from the bed and breakfast (house/hotel). An aid station worker needs to go up the road ¼ mile next to the A-frame “turn around” sign. The runners will pass this aid station twice. There will be a port o pottie at the turnout. Arrive at 5:45 am (need to arrive before ½ marathon runners start at 6 or can’t get to station) approx last runner 8:50 am. Directions: You will need to drive up Emigration because the ½ marathon start is ¼ mile past the turnoff to this station and you will not be able to get through the runners.
This aid station is located at mile 11 of the marathon and is the first station to have 1/2 marathon runners. This is a great station to see a lot of people and really encourage them. This station could use 8-12 people. This aid station is located Just after the 11 mile marker in the turnout on the right side. It is just barely (walking distance) past a red/brown square brick house. There will be a port o pottie. A large turnout can park 5-6 cars here. Arrive 5:30 am expect 1,300 runners (grouped) approx last runner 9:15 am. Directions: Drive up Emigration Canyon from the bottom by the zoo. From zoo to Aid Station Approx 4 miles.
This station is at mile 13 of the Marathon and will see both marathon and 1/2 marathon runners and will be a great place to see a lot of runners and really motivate them. it is located at Kamp Kostopulos after the 13.1 mark (paint in road) in a large turnout on the left hand side. This is a parking pull out for Camp K. There is a large parking spot (like 15 cars). There will be a port o pottie. You will want to arrive at 5:30 am and expect 1,300 runners. Approx last runner 9:00 am. This station could use 8 - 12 volunteers. Directions: Drive up Emigration Canyon from the bottom by the zoo. From the zoo to the Aid Station is Approx 2.3 miles and will be on the right hand side. As soon as you arrive set up table and begin pouring water and mix powerade. Pour all cups. After the last runner please take down the table, gather all used cups and place in provided trash bags, clean up area, dump extra liquid and leave all supplies on table for pick up. Thank you!
This station is a great location and will see both the marathon and 1/2 marathon runners. it is located on the corner of Crestview Dr. and Emigration Canyon Rd. Just east of the zoo parking lot. This is where the marathon runners turn left to go up Crestview Dr. and the ½ marathon runners go straight down until they reach Foothill Blvd. There will be an A-frame sign in the middle of the road to direct the runners. An aid station volunteer will need to walk up ¼ mile from the water tables with the energy gel to hand to the runners so they have time to eat the gel and then get a drink of water. Arrive between 5:45 am- 5:50, expect 1,300 runners, approx last runner 9:20am. This station could use 10-12 volunteers. You will want to Park volunteer cars at corner of zoo and the park. After last runner please take down the table, gather all used cups and place in provided trash bags, clean up area, dump extra liquid and leave all supplies on table for pick up. Thank you!
This aid station is located at mile 17 of the marathon and will see marathon runners only. This is a great place to really encourage those runners as many of them begin to hit "the wall" around this distance. It is located right by the 17 mile marker on the corner of Kensington Ave. and Wasatch Dr. The aid station will be on the west side of the street in front of a residence. The port o pottie will be on the east side of the road by the stop sign. Arrive at 6:30 am last runner approx 10 am. Expect large gaps in runners at this point. After the last runner please take down the table, gather all used cups and place in provided trash bags, clean up area, dump extra liquid and leave all supplies on table for pick up. Thank you! This station is located near the 19 mile marker in the south end of the Red Hanger parking lot on 1707 Foothill Blvd. This is a great place to see some dedicated runners and really help them stay motivated. There will be a port o pottie. Arrive at 6:45 am and expect large gaps in runners. The approx. last runner will be about 10:15 am. This station is located at about mile 21 of the marathon. This is a great place to see runners as they push for the last 4 miles of the race. The Aid station will be on the east side of Foothill Blvd, on the grass just southeast of Wakara Way. The port o pottie will be on the island (median) in the intersection on Foothill and Wakara Way. There is no parking on Foothill so please park and walk to the station. Arrive at 7:00 am approx last runner 10:45 am. This station could use 4 - 5 volunteers. After the last runner please take down the table, gather all used cups and place in provided trash bags, clean up area, dump extra liquid and leave all supplies on table for pick up. Thank you!
This station will see marathon, 1/2 marathon and 10K runners, so you will see a lot of runners, which is fun. It is located At the 23 mile mark in the pullout in front of Salt Lake Regional hospital (1050 E. South Temple). Park cars in the pullout or the side of the road. There will be a port o pottie. Arrive at 5:30 am, expect 2,300 runners grouped, approx last runner 11:30. Within the first 10 min will have 1,000 runners from the 10K (6:15am). Bulk first shift of volunteers. When arrive set up table and immediately start filling cups of water. You will want to have 1,000 cups filled by 6 am. Also mix powerade and begin pouring cups. This station could have shifts with the first being from 5:30 - 8:30 and the second being 8:30 - 11:30. Individuals can stay for both shifts if they would like. If so just sign up for both shifts. After the last runner please take down the table, gather all used cups and place in provided trash bags, clean up area, dump extra liquid and leave all supplies on table for pick up. This station could use 15+ volunteers
The volunteers needed for this position will be posted at the finish line. They will be there to greet runners as they come in and pass by all the food that is provided for them after they run. This is a key spot as food will need to be replenished so that it is easily accessible to the runners. It is a great way to visit with runners and congratulate them as they finish. This station is a place where runners love to see people helping since they just finished their race and are grateful to be finished. Lots of energy is needed here. It is a great place for large groups to be able to work together. You will want to arrive at 5:30 AM at 900 S 700 E North East corner of Liberty Park This station could use 25+ people to help.
At 6th South and 3rd East. On the grass in front of Bldg. 560. This aid station will be small. It won’t be open until 9:00, that is when the police make the remaining marathon runners turn down 3rd east instead of 2nd east. It is the last of the runners, so you will need to stay in place until 11:30. I only anticipate 250 runners maximum passing here. There will be a port o pottie and a hand washing station. Mix the Gatorade in the 5 gallon water jug as needed. Arrive between 8:30-8:45. Many of the roads will be closed because of the races. Please plan to leave early so that you can navigate the road closures. Please be there by 8:30.
