Mount Shasta Tinman Triathlon Volunteer Waiver

For the event year 2022, I am acting as a volunteer with a mission to help support, guide and cheer for the athletes of the Mt. Shasta Tinman Triathlon and Duathlon. I do this knowing that I will be in a park setting and although the event organizers have put forth efforts to keep me safe as a volunteer, and will train me to do my volunteering safely, there are still possibilities of injury.

Being permitted to participate in the Mt. Shasta Tinman Triathlon as a volunteer, I, hereby release and forever discharges the California Sporting Company, LLC. all their directors, members, owners, and volunteers, Mt. Shasta Tinman, Rotary Club of Dunsmuir, Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort, Race Directors, the City of Mt. Shasta, the City of Dunsmuir, the County of Siskiyou, the race sponsors, and all employees and agents from any liability for accident, injury or damage to persons or property, however, caused arising out of or in connection with my participating in the Mt. Shasta Tinman Triathlon. This release and indemnity shall apply even if injury or damage may have been contributed to or caused by the negligence of the above-named groups or their agents. I agree to indemnify and save harmless all of the above-named groups and their agents from all and any damages caused by me as a result of my participation in the Mt. Shasta Tinman Triathlon, knowing that I am willingly participating in a rigorous athletic event. I hereby allow the use of photography and videography and grant the rights of usage of photos and videos for Mount Shasta Tinman and California Sporting Company promotional purposes.

Mount Shasta Tinman Triathlon Job Details

Mover and Shaker (Set up/tear down)

Set up and tear down of equipment at the race start, bike course, run course, and race transition areas. Shift Information: Saturday, 4pm - 8 pm Sunday, 6am - 12pm

Refreshment Master

Fill the Tinman provided water jugs at the resort, add electrolytes to half of the jugs, and distribute them to 2 locations. (5 jugs total: 3 at the run turnaround and 2 in the transition area. 2 Tables needed total and Tinman provided cups at each location. 300 at the run turnaround, and 200 at the transition area. Making sure water remains full at the run turnaround. Being supporters and cheering on the athletes! Radio provided to call for more water if needed. Begin setup at 6am on Sunday tear down around 11:30am. A vehicle will be needed to drop off water at the run turnaround.

Road Sign Roadie

Distribute signs to road intersections (pickup truck required). This is a Saturday job for set up, select shift and Sunday job for clean-up, select this shift as well if you can. Map and instructions will be provided.

Check-in Table Consierge

Check-in the registered athletes the night before the event, giving them their bibs, pins, and swim caps. Check-in will also be on Race Day early morning.

Body Marking Artist

Mark athlete bodies with provided markers at Check-in on the morning of the race.

Race day Transition area Guardian

Help keep non-athletes out of the transition area. Answer athlete questions. Confirm 10 bikes per rack.

Run Course Route Director

Stand on course and direct athletes to Run Course

Mount/Dismount General

Instruct athletes to mount and slow down to dismount just outside the transition area.

Banquet Herald (Set up of athlete food/bev)

Set up of food and beverage bar for athletes in the finishing area.

Bike Course Route Director (Bike-course traffic control within park)

Direct athletes on bike course within park

Bike Course Route Director (Bike-course traffic control outside park)

Direct bike traffic and various intersections outside of park. Radio's will be provided

Helpful Hydrator (Run course turnaround)

Staff water station and direct athletes at run turn around. Two stations with two volunteers each.

Medal gods!

Bestow medals to each athlete at the finish area. You are truly a Medal god!

Kayaking Lords and Ladies of the Lake (Water Support/Kayakers)

Assist athletes on swim course by offering a place to rest or to be able to pull them in if they are done. Safety meeting will be held prior to getting on the water and it will be held on the beach by the start

Bike Course Route Director of Volunteers

Instruct, Direct, and transport bike route traffic volunteers to and from various intersections outside of the park. Radios will be provided
