We can't have a Run to Foster Hope without you! Join us as a Set-Up Volunteer to support the work that goes into hosting a run. Set-up volunteers must arrive at Land Park by 6:15am. Duties: help unload and set up tables, water stations, activities stations and first aid stations. Set-up volunteers can stay and transition to other volunteer assignments, just sign in for your preferred duty or as a floater to get placed where needed most. This role requires the ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 25 lbs.
Hydration is a must when you're running to Foster Hope! Our water station volunteers will have the following responsibilities: Fill water cups, hand water to runners, and pick up trash. Motivate and encourage runners as they pass by your station. Please plan to arrive at the park for registration and orientation by 7:30. Shift ends after the last runner has come by and you help break down the station, around 11:30.This requires volunteers to stand for the duration of their shift.
Not sure what role you'd like or are interested in multiple? Volunteer to be a Floater! Floaters will be assigned where most needed or may bounce between stations and offer extra help and assistance. Please plan to arrive at the park 15 minutes before your shift to get registered.
WE GOT SPIRIT YES WE DO- WE GOT SPIRIT HOW BOUT YOU?! Cheer Team volunteers create a fun sign prior to the race and cheer the runners on throughout. Also direct the runners and keep them on course. Be a key player in keeping the excitement and momentum going on the course. Please plan to arrive at the park by 8:15, the race should be over by 11:00.
When its all said and done, and we have to say goodbye to our great event until next year, we need volunteers to help tear-down. Volunteers will be needed who can stay after the event to help with the tear-down and clean-up. Responsibilities include folding tables and chairs, picking up trash, and taking down signs. Standing, bending, and lifting 25lbs are prefered. This is a great role for someone who may not be able to make the 6:30 am - 7:00 am volunteer call. Please plan to arrive to the park no later than 12:00 p.m. This role requires physical labor and the ability to lift at least 25lbs.
Hold flags and directional signs around the course and near the parking garage to assist others in finding their way to the start of the race. Please arrive on time to get out to your position promptly. Stations area assigned in pairs of two. This role requires standing for the duration of your shift.
Do you have a hidden talent and secretly enjoy making balloon animals, please volunteer to bring this fun activity for the kids to enjoy. We can provide the supplies if we know ahead of time. Shift would be 8:30 - 1:00
While listening to the live acoustical music, sit with kids and adults and help them turn old gift cards, into guitar picks for strumming or wearing as a necklace. Come early for instructions. Shift starts at 8:30 and ends at 1:30. Entails, setting up, demonstrrating and assisting, and breaking down the station.
Sit at the finish line and help direct runners accross the finish line, calling out times and bib numbers. We need support to help inform our runners of their time to beat. OR be the one to jot it down on our log. Chair and tent are provided to keep you comfortable. Please arrive 15 minutes before for registration and instructions. Shift includes set up support and break down.
