Spirits Run 5K Volunteer Waiver

1. Voluntary Participation

I understand that I am volunteering for the Spirits Run event by my own choice. I am not an employee, contractor, or agent of Spirits Run, and I am not entitled to wages, benefits, or compensation of any kind.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that volunteering at a running event involves certain risks, including but not limited to: standing for long periods, lifting light materials, interacting with participants, being near roadways or sidewalks, and general outdoor conditions. I voluntarily accept and assume all risks associated with my participation.

3. Release of Liability

In consideration for being allowed to volunteer, I hereby release and hold harmless Spirits Run, its organizers, sponsors, venue partners, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, or demands arising out of my participation, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

4. Medical Acknowledgment

I certify that I am physically able to volunteer and will notify event staff immediately if I feel unwell or unsafe. I understand that basic first aid may be available, but medical treatment is not guaranteed.

5. Photo & Media Release

I grant permission for Spirits Run to use photos or videos of me taken during the event for promotional, marketing, or social media purposes. I understand that I will not receive compensation for the use of these images.

6. Conduct & Safety

I agree to follow all instructions from event organizers and to act in a safe, respectful manner toward participants, staff, and other volunteers. I will report any unsafe conditions immediately.

7. No Alcohol Requirement

I understand that while the event may take place at or near establishments serving alcohol, I am not required to consume alcohol and will not do so while volunteering.

8. Agreement

Spirits Run 5K Job Details

Volunteer for 5K

Volunteers needed for the 5K on Valentines Day at Kappy's in Oak Forest. We need people to do the check in process; 2 to do water at the cemetery, also need people to be at the stop lights to make sure participants adhere to signs we also need cheerleaders!! Volunteers over 21 will receive a cocktail after the event; all volunteers will receive a tshirt; so we will need tshirt size!
