BE THE LIGHT WALK Job Details
Children's Activity Area
Monitor an area set aside for children to play prior to presentation. Minimum age 14.
Course Volunteers
Stand at an intersection wearing a safety vest and direct the flow of participants along the route so they don't get lost. Meet at Volunteer Check In Area inside KI Convention Center at 6:00 pm. Minimum age 14.
General Volunteers
Available to help in any capacity.
Greeter & Crowd Control
Staff the entrance areas at the KI Convention Center, directing the flow of people arriving for the presentation (5-7 pm) and departing for the walk (8-9 pm). Minimum age 16.
"In Memory Of" Table
Supervise the tables where people decorate the memorial lanterns (white paper bags which later have lit candles placed in them along the trail route, aka luminarias). Manage a display area showcasing photos and mementos of loved ones lost to suicide. Minimum age 14.
Merchandise Sales
Assist in the sale of t-shirts and other merchandise for the event. Minimum age 18.
Registration: Set Up & Early Packet/Shirt Pick up
Assist with the folding and organizing of shirts for the registration tables along with handing out packets the day prior to the event. Minimum age of 14.
Registration: New Registration Processing
Handle the data entry and payment processing of walk up registrants. Minimum age 18.
Registration: Pre-Registered Shirt & Bag Pick Up (Individuals)
Hand out shirts and bags to pre-registered participants who are sorted alphabetically by last name. Minimum age of 14.
Registration: Pre-Registered Shirt & Bag Pick Up (Teams)
Hand out shirts and bags to pre-registered participants who are members of teams. Minimum age of 14.
Usher
Assist in ensuring that participants are able to find an open seat. Minimum age of 18.
Event Photographers
Take photos of the event, individuals, and groups. Must provide own camera and have ability to upload images to event staff. Photography experience preferred. Please contact bethelightwalk@gmail.com with background information to obtain the password and sign up.
