Bronzeville 5K Run/ Walk Volunteer Waiver

As a volunteer for the Bronzeville 5K Run/Walk & Kids Dash (“the Event”), I understand and agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that volunteering at an athletic event involves certain risks, including but not limited to, exposure to weather conditions, interactions with participants and spectators, physical activity, and potential hazards associated with large events. I voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness, or harm that may arise from my participation as a volunteer.

Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to volunteer, I hereby release and hold harmless We Run Sports Chicago, the Spaulding Foundation, event organizers, sponsors, vendors, the City of Chicago, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action arising out of or connected with my participation as a volunteer, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Medical Treatment

I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident, or illness during the Event. I understand that I am responsible for any costs related to such treatment.

Photo & Media Release

I grant permission for photographs, video, or other media recordings of me taken during the Event to be used for promotional, educational, or informational purposes by We Run Sports Chicago and its partners, without compensation.

Volunteer Expectations

I agree to follow all instructions from Event staff, act responsibly, and perform my volunteer duties to the best of my ability. I understand that failure to do so may result in dismissal from my volunteer role.

Acknowledgment of Understanding

I have read this waiver and release of liability and fully understand its terms. By signing below, I voluntarily agree to be bound by its provisions.
